Admissions Process

The first step in applying to Project Learn is to attend an Open House. After the Open House, if you feel Project Learn may be a good match for your family and child, you will fill out an application form and return it with the $25 fee.

The next step is the student's visit at the school. Children in the primary group (5-6 year olds; K-1) will be invited to visit with Jane's Group for two mornings starting in mid-January. Children in Maryanne's Group (6-8 year olds; 1-2) are invited to visit for two days. 

For students in grade two through seven the child visits for three successive days, and the decision regarding acceptance is made by the entire staff at a regular staff meeting.

During your child's visits, no formal assessment is made, but your child is observed for interests and strengths, appropriateness of our program for his or her educational needs, ability to make friends in the group, and willingness to be a group member. We have very limited openings in grades one through five but add students each year to the sixth and seventh grades.
